We climbed Diamond Head in under 20 minutes. The stairs were pretty steep, but it was worth it for the view!

There was a large pond at the Dole plantation. Nisse bought some fish food and the fish went nuts! Look at the white one with his mouth open.

Don't Nisse, Barbara and I make lovely pineapples??

Part of our sightseeing tour with Barbara was to the Dole pineapple plantation. Wait 'til you see us as "pineapples"!

Last minute can be the most fun!

When the fares are so cheap and the hotel is so reasonable, how could Nisse and I NOT go to Hawaii??
It was short notice, but we managed to force ourselves to rearrange our schedules to take a quick trip to Waikiki. It was Nisse's first trip there since she was a baby, so I was looking forward to sharing her new experiences.
Our hotel was 1/2 block from the beach and 1 1/2 blocks from Starbucks. Does it get any better? We had a great time going shopping with Barbara. She even spent the day taking us sightseeing. The heiau was a highlight - we'd never have seen it without her. We snorkelled at Hanauma Bay, climbed Diamond Head and shopped, shopped, shopped. Shihan Lowe, Mrs. Lowe, Ellen, Artie, Cathy, Michael, Jenny and of course, Barbara were so hospitable. They really made our trip special! Our last day, we spent a few hours at the zoo, before heading back to the beach. Nisse's favourite were the golden spider monkeys and the hippos.
I'm looking forward to sharing some of our photos.
